Sheltered in the south end of Northeast California, Redding lies in Shasta County, roughly 12 mi (19 km) south of the Shasta Dam. The city provides visitors with distinguished attractions such as the Redding Convention Center, a multi-purpose facility that hosts a variety of exhibitions and performances, including classical music and live theatre. The Turtle Bay Park Museum and Arboretum is dedicated to interpreting the relationship between humans and nature, boasting a 300-acre (121-ha) campus that includes botanical gardens, museums, camps and trails .
